You have most probably heard of Kael as he has be storming the surfing world with a heavily loaded bag of big airs and the ability to take off under some of the heaviest slabs around Australia and the world.
The 19 year old has an attitude that reflects in his surfing.
Kael recently competed in the WSL starting off in Margret river where he was up against some of the worlds best at his favourite wave, North point. Coming a close second to #2 Gabriel Medina in his first heat, Kael went on to knock out fellow Australian Matt Wilkinson in round 2 at Margret river Mian Break. After round two the Comp was cancelled due to shark activity (Gabriel) in the area and was continued at Uluwatu in Indonesia. Kael Moved onto round 3 where he came up against world #3 Australian Julian Wilson. It was a tight heat with Kael answering back to Julians first wave. Unfortunately the wave quality was poor making it hard for Kael to better Julians 2nd and 3rd waves knocking Kael out to finish in 13th place.
Here is just over two minutes of big tubes, straight airs and roters. This edit, Obsolete, came from the lens of Myles Carroll, Wade Carroll and Jimmy Graham. Kael and Myles cut it, spiced up with Nirvana’s “You know you’re right," and it is damn fine viewing. As far as surfing out of the singlet goes, Kael won't be living beneath Quiksilver's inked up golden boy, Mikey Wright, for much longer as long as he keeps dropping edits like this.
