Arakawa // RP SHORT

This one is pretty simple. We just took the RP model and
tuned it for small waves. Raphael Castro was riding his RP in
everything—and loving it. After getting a taste for it in small
conditions, he felt its potential to be just what he wanted in a
shortboard. So he shot us a call and last year we got to work
making just a few tweaks to his favorite 6’2 RP. He wanted to
keep the drive and hold that he had grown to love, but add a
litte more pop and liveliness. Add a little width here, a little extra
concave there, and in no time it was deadly sharp in small waves.
Eric is constantly making these sorts of special adjustments in
custom orders, but it ends up being a sort of secret menu within
a model. This time round, the people deserve to know.
